ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

From: John Ignatowski, November 2004

The Wurlitzer Unit Orchestra Opus 86 built in 1916 for the Stratford Theatre in Detroit and later the home instrument of Mr. John Rinn, has been donated to Soo Theatre Project Inc., Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

The mission of Soo Theatre Project is to renovate and reopen the classic 1930 Soo Theatre as a non-profit community-based performing arts center.

The organ was dismantled at the Rinn residence at St. Clair, Michigan on October 29/30, 2004, and delivered to the Soo Theatre on October 31, 2004.

It will probably be at least three years before the organ will be installed in the auditorium. During this period it will undergo cleaning and refurbishing with no tonal changes.
