I recently purchased Wurlitzer Opus 261 from David Card of Harrison, Maine.
It is currently in storage here at my home in Jefferson, Maine USA, but as time allows it will be restored and added to the project I have already begun. At first I bought Opus 261 for parts, as the entire Solo chamber had been scrapped when the organ was installed in the church in South Portland, Maine. But now that I have the organ, I find that it would be a crime to break up this early organ for parts. So…I will restore Opus 261’s Main chamber and use all of its remaining parts, combined with the Solo chamber that I have already restored from the organ I removed from the Leon Brown home in Saugus, Massachusetts. That organ was built up from parts, so I won’t be raiding an historic instrument for parts. Here are some pictures taken during the removal from David Card’s stable building in Harrison.
