I visited that church (the original) back in about 1976 with the late George Pasquaye and our
friend John Tay.
In the church at that time was a 2/6 Style 160 Wurlitzer, minus the traps,
that had been rebuilt and moved by the Wurlitzer Co. in 1938.
The original piano console was long gone, and Wurlitzer had replaced it with a late model
scroll lid console.
Originally, the organ (Opus No. 444) had been located in the National Theater in Brooklyn, NY in about 1920,
if I remember correctly. I am trying to remember from a short visit many years ago, but if memory serves,
the Wurlitzer had not only been given the new console, but had been rebuilt with Bakelite magnet caps too.
I would hate to think that the organ went down with the original church building, when Route 9 was straightened out!
