ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Please note that Opus 940 is no more.

For almost ten years efforts by NYTOS to restore the organ for free! has fallen on deaf ears at the former fabled Elks lodge. The instrument was slowly deteriorating as well as gradually getting trashed by "rental events".

Recently the building was sold, and apparently a final coup de gras was administered when some one placed speaker cabinets on top of the main and solo chests. Apparently the little pipes were easier to flatten. Consequently all nine ranks are now missing their top 3 octaves.

The console looked like it had been through a war zone.

Last Saturday, a NYTOS crew removed the entire instrument in one day after purchasing it from the building owners. Yes, it is parted out. With a lack of storage and manpower, and lacking specific parts at other projects it was decide that it would continue life enhancing our other installations. Some parts are now for sale.

Some may decry this decision, but be assured that it would have wound up on the trash heap if we had not stepped in and salvaged what we could.
