ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

From: Joe Zivnak, Nov. 2000

I purchased Op.1839 from Ben Thompson of Oak Hills, CA at the end of last year. The organ is currently stored at my shop in Azusa, CA.

I anticipate the close of escrow for the purchase of the Fox Theatre in Riverside, CA at the beginning of the new year and will likely install the organ there once the refurbishment of the theatre is complete. If you are interested, you can view information on the theatre at http://www.fox-riverside-theater.com

The original console was sold to Bob Loesch. It was replaced with a Style 260 console that Ben acquired from Ken Crome. I do not know the Opus number of that console, but it is an early "closed bracket" panel style console. At the same time Ben installed a Devtronix Multi-Action relay and enlarged the organ from 13 to 17 ranks with the addition of a Wurlitzer Post Horn and Solo String, a Gottfreid Oboe Horn, and a Bizik/Trivo Brass Saxophone.

As you may be aware, it was Ben Thompson who removed Op. 1839 form the Palace Theatre Indianapolis, IN back in 1961. He states, and the physical evidence confirms, that the relay is original to the organ. The "SP" or "Plus" in this case is the addition of a Horn Diapason and Brass Trumpet, and the deletion of the Piano. I understand that this was a common version of 235 SP. The organ does have the additional Traps that are included on a 235 over a 240, but it has 5 Trems like a 240. (The Tibia and Tuba are on 15" WP). This is documented on the blueprints.
