Activities: Regular meetings are on the third Sunday of each month at the location of the Forker Wurlitzer (in the Grace Baptist Church). The usual plan is to have a social time with light refreshments at 2:00 PM, followed by an organ program on the Wurlitzer or an open console period at 2:30 PM. All meetings are open to the public. About three times a year, MTOS hosts organ concerts featuring world-class artists. Every November, the regular meeting becomes a birthday celebration for the local chapter as it meets at the Charles Ringling Mansion to enjoy the 1926 Aeolian pipe organ that was restored by the MTOS in the early 1990s. |
Membership: MTOS is comprised of members all along the
mid-Florida West coast. Many are accomplished organists; all are enthusiastic
theatre organ fans. The membership year is from July 1 each year.
Annual dues for this local chapter are just $25.00 to cover the cost of a
monthly newsletter. For anyone joining after December 31 of any year,
current-year dues are prorated. To join MTOS, please contact Yvonne
George, Membership Chair (see contact information below). As MTOS is a chapter of the national organization,
ATOS, full membership requires
that members belong to that organization, also. (Please see the national website
for more information.) Click here for a printable membership application: |

Newsletter: MTOS publishes a monthly newsletter, Pipe Notes, which is mailed to members. Pipe Notes was edited beautifully for several years by Ira Freedman, serving as an interesting, newsy multipage publication. Later, John Fischer accepted the duties as editor, bringing color to the publication for the first time. Pipe Notes is now edited by the very capable and creative Mary Alexander (see contact information below), who has introduced electronic publishing for Pipe Notes. |

Our sister club in Tampa, the Central Florida Theatre Organ Society (CFTOS)
also has a website. Check it out at
