Electronic organs having replaced the more expensive to manufacture reed organs which in the virtuoso's instance consists of 530 brass reeds comprising ten ranks on a scope of 26 stops, of which 10 are speaking stops and 16 are couplers and octaves, tremulent
I have fairly free access to a couple of Pipe Organs in two churches, one is an M.P.Moller 6 rank organ opus 8881 from 1955, the other is an 11 rank organ from 1929 of undetermined origins.
The M.P.Moller organ was his common "Double Artiste" model with no frills and nothing fancy about it!
Another project I am working on, I recently flew to Long Island N.Y and removed an M.P.Moller 9 rank organ, opus #5757 from 1930, which is currently in storage. It will be trucked across the country to become my residence organ, only the fifth such organ in the county.
Many thanks to the numerous folks on the list who sent helpful
advice on removal and transport, and also to "remark" on irc who graciously
spent a half hour out of his irc chat night to browse his yellow pages and
relay phones and addresses for storage units to this perfect stranger!
Kudos also to this site owner for the space for this page and files.
