Anatomy of a WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ

SWITCHSTACK Action

Installing the secondary pneumatics.

This is looking from the bottom of the chest.

Here can be seen the large overhang of the secondary pneumatics which does not seem to happen anywhere else in the instrument.

Also visible are the holes which connect the secondary pneumatics to the valves, when the bottom board is in place. Holes are drilled in all potential action positions but by only cutting the gasket where the position is in use the unused positions remain sealed.

The pneumatic mounting board fits into slots in the end boards, and looks like it should slide out, however it is glued in place.

Note also the large amount of gasket material these chests use.
