Anatomy of a WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ

SWITCHSTACK Action

Here the chest is complete, except the side cover.

The magnet and valve bottom boards, similar in construction to most other chests, are seperate for each side of the chest and screw into the end boards and the base of the "T" section that forms the secondary pneumatic mounting board. Unlike most other chests that use this arrangement for the bottom board the side of the chest screws to the bottom board instead of the other way around. Unfortunately taking the side off does not allow access to the primary pneumatics and valves, although the magnet are quite accessible.

The hole in the cross brace between the top board and the secondary pneumatic board would seem to have little practical value as there is plenty of room for air to move down each side of the chest below the secondary pneumatics.
