ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

From: David Lowe, December 2002

The theatre opened in 1930 as the New Victoria, part of the PCT circuit. This was taken over by Gaumont British (and so the name changed) I think just after the War. Became part of CMA.

In 1968 the Odeon closed and the Gaumont was re-modelled as the (new) Odeon; this was when the organ was removed by the NETOA first to West Cornforth WMC (not successful) then to the New Victoria Centre, Howden-le-Wear, named, of course, after the original NV cinema in Bradford.
