| _______________________________ The Central Indiana Chapter is a nonprofit organization* dedicated to the preservation of an unique American art form - the theatre pipe organ and its music. The objectives of the Central Indiana Chapter and the American Theatre Organ Society are to preserve, maintain, restore and promote the surviving theatre pipe organs from the '20s and '30s. This effort also promotes the use, understanding and enjoyment of these unique instruments by today's generation as well as future generations. Our members include musicians, organ builders, technicians and a diverse group of enthusiasts - all devoted to the preservation and continued enjoyment of what we believe to be a national treasure. These objectives translate into a number of national, international and local activities which are rewarding both culturally and educationally. There are activities for the enthusiast interested primarily in organ building and restoration, activities for those interested in performing or learning to play a theatre pipe organ and plenty of opportunities merely to enjoy the music generated by these marvelous instruments. As a way of promoting the theatre organ the chapter sponsors an annual concert series for the public, comprised of performances by outstanding national and international visiting artists. The chapter also periodically presents educational programs about theatre organs. Become a member of CIC-ATOS and help preserve, maintain, restore and promote a national treasure. |
