From: Gilles Bacon Subject: Lucky Peterson Discography Lucky Peterson ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ He studied with Jimmy Smith and is a guitar virtuoso as well. An excellent singer, composer and arranger, his five albums are all worth picking up. He's my favorite young (~25!) Blues artist, and he plays some mean B-3! From the All-Music Guide: A former child prodigy who recorded his first album and appeared on the "Tonight Show" at the age of five, Lucky Peterson has continued to burn as one of the bright lights on the contemporary blues scene. As a teenager, Lucky toured with Little Milton, followed by a stint with Bobby Bland, and he now performs with his own unit in addition to doing session work with many of the top names in blues. A superb organist who has also become an excellent guitarist, Lucky was raised with the blues, and his musical instincts allow him to play down-home blues, funk, R&B, jazz, and up-to-the-minute original blues with equal ease. ~ Jim O'Neal LEADER ^^^^^^ (Melvin Taylor) Ridin' 1984 Isabel* Lucky Strikes 1989 Alligator Triple Play 1990 Alligator (Illinois Jacquet) I'm Ready 1992 Verve (Memphis Horns) Beyond Cool 1993 Verve SIDEMAN ^^^^^^^ Bluzblasters, The Sooner or Later ?
