Ruthrieston goods siding remains on the right.

Only two and a half miles from the end of the walk.

The site of Ruthrieston Goods siding on the Up side of the branch. This is looking westwards. Left: This could have been a stop block or the base of a Crane!

Bus stop on the No. 22 route too and from Auchinyell. I caught the bus from here into the City on my second walk over the track bed
as I didn't need to do the Holburn Street-Duthie Park section a second time.

Mile post approaching Ruthrieston station site.

pretty much the same today but is fenced off to traffic each side of the bridge and for pedestrians only.

HOLBURN STREET STATION

The final station before Ferryhill Junction. A temporary platform was built at the Duthie Park. Used by ---- ---- on the official opening of the park in 18xx.

The modern footbridge over Holburn Street.

The station entrance stairs from Holburn Street still remain.

Remains of the Down platform.

Holburn Street from the over bridge looking southwards towards the Brig O' Dee..

Holburn Street from the over bridge looking northwards towards the City center. The Brig O' Dee to the Brig O' Don was the longest
tram route in the City. N.B. The steps on the right leading up to Holburn Street station. On the left the newer Grey Street.

The modern over bridge looking southwards. The station stairway from street level is on the far left. Looking towards Brig O' Dee
tram terminal. A car has just turned right into Grey Street that didn't exist at the time of the photo below.

The same spot during the final days of the tramcars in 1958. A Super Streamliner of  1949 dips under the  railway bridge on it's
way into the City while a Standard tram heads for the Bridge Of Dee terminus just up ahead. Worth noting that on the far left the
tenement buildings behind the bridge have gone and there was no Grey Street to the right.

Half way along the Up platform. The platform is split here to form a road up from Holburn Street to lead onto the track bed..

The Hardgate over bridge

Somehow I forgot to take photos of and from the Hardgate over bridge and I have had to use these two photos taken on a previous visit to the
railway sit on the 13th January 2013.

From the bridge over the Hardgate. Looking northwards. The Hardgate ran all the way up to Justice Mill Lane and was the main road too and from the
south  This was overtaken by South Anderson Drive in the 1800's.

The end of the railway trail at the entrance into Duthie Park.

This is the end of the track bed that you can see. From here to the junction site has disappeared below gardens and you can only see
the site of Ferryhill Junction from the train.

The Ballater branch crossing Palmuir Road just yards from the site of Ferryhill Junction to the right.

.
Taken from a train departing Aberdeen station for London KX. 1973/4. The track bed of the junction to Ballater is on the right and
still has most of the ballast down plus telegraph poles still standing. The loco depot is still used for storage and servicing.
(Own photograph).

The suburban railway had it's own platforms and booking office keeping them separate from the main line platforms. The Booking office was on the
corner of Bridge Street and Guild Street. Today it is known as Tiffany Hairdressing.

The Ex Suburban Station Booking Office. There was a steep stairway down to the platform. Taken from the Crown Terrace stairs.

The old Suburban Railway ticket office and stairway down to the Down platform. This was boarded over for many years but
uncovered and tidied up in the 90's. Could it be waiting reopening for a new Suburban Railway service under the Cross City services
that are in future plans!

A "Subbie" train waiting to depart for the Deeside line. (Author Unknown)
