Once again we would urge C R C,. members to make a visit if at all possible.

I do not know if it will be mentioned elsewhere, but you will recall the minature pH meter in the previous Newsletter and my own evaluation of it for the purpose, Well, it seems to have appealed to our members because I am told that, to date, twenty’ two have been dispatched against orders and more are in the pipe line. This augers well for the increase in the weigher’s and mixer’s in our ranks.

‘another splendid piece of news..... a representative from the Technical Dept. of KONICA will be giving us a talk about their films at our AGN on the 31st of May, at Didcot. KONICA laid great stress on the point that they wish us to come prepared to ask a lot of questions and generally find out everything about, their films and how we can obtain the best results from them. Be nice if we could get KONICA to sponsor us, wouldn’t it.

I am indebted to Ron Knowles for putting me: in touch with the right person at KONICA - Ron was already talking to them and he kindly steered the matter in my direction when it was suggested that their representative was available to talk to us.

As well as pointing out the dangers involved with using C T C to clean films, Area Three Leader, Roy Salmons makes another tempting offer to enlarger users. Firstly on C T C Roy says: A specialist at the local hospital was frantic when hearing I used C T C to clean movie films and slides. The stuff is really unpleasant, doing nasty things to your liver. It’s poisonous by inhalation and by absorbtion through skin. In fact if you inhale it’s vapour through a lighted cigarette you are getting a whiff of phosgene gas which is potentially lethal - Presumably this is why the various proprietry clears containing the stuff have all been withdrawn from the market. Anyway, you HAVE been warned.

Both systems are adequately covered in a variety of books on colour printing available from your local library so no need to explain more here. But, as is my usual endevour in my Newsletters, here is a special offer to all  C. R. C. members: Three additive filters (3" square) - one red, one green, one blue - for the princely sum of £1.50, post free or One set of 19" x 3" square magenta, cyan and yellow, usual price £8 for just £5.".
