CRC AGM 1988
Apologies for absence were received from B. sanders, C. Powell and B. Lewis. The minutes of the 1987 AGM were read and approved. There was no matters arising from the minutes.
The Secretary gave a report on the years activities which were described as being like the weather of 1987, both good and bad.
Four promenant figures in the world of reversal processing have passed on. First Arnold Moorhouse, then Brian Wheatcroft. Shortly after, Peter calvert, Leader of Area 4, and Percy Deal, Leader of Area 24, both passed away, both came as a big shock to the committee and members.
To make matters worse, Reg Long resigned as Leader of Area 19 and not one of his group would volunteer to take on the leadership. The remaining members have now been transferred to George Sparkes' who's area 22 covers South East England.
There is fortunately good news. Alan Frame has started to restructure Area 11 in Scotland, and most of the |Scottish membership have returned to this Area.
The Club Chairman, Bert Sanders, has had a successful operation on his eyes and is now well on the road to recovery.
3M have made us a very generous offer for the supply of film, and from initial tests this seems of first class quality.
Our relationship with Konica is very good and we have now sold almost £1500 worth of mainly bulk film. This we hope will continue.
The Newsletter has become more professional, and we have had a lot of compliments on the new format. To be fair we have had a few criticisms on the size of the print, and the difficulty of reading it. The content balance between technical articles and general interest pieces seem about right.
The Club will in future donate a film for the best article and the best letter in each edition of the Newsletter and the Committee hope this will help to foster more contributions.
There have been two committee meetings at Worcester and these have been well attended. These meetings have enabled us to run the Club fairly smoothly and thanks must go to the members who have attended at their own expense for the great help they give the C.R.C.
Film sales have provided a spin off as it enables the Secretary to keep in touch with many more members through the letters which pass with the orders. About 70 members have bought film many of them for the second and third time. It is a good indication that we still have plenty of active members.
On the balance it would appear the good things outweigh the bad, and that augers well for the future.
In the absence of the Treasurer, Sue Croad, the Club Auditor presented the accounts. G. Sparkes proposed that the meeting approved the accounts and the motion was seconded by P. Guy.
No new nominations were received for the posts of the officers of the Club, and the meeting approved that the Committee be re-alected en-bloc for 1988/89. The motion was proposed by O. Barron and seconded by K. Jenner. It was carried unanimously.
An appeal for a new Chemical Supplies Officer was put before the meeting but no volunteer came forward.
The possibility of obtaining a Club Badge and tie was raised - but there was little support for the idea.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 1.10pm.
