"DIVERSIFICATION"

By Eric Mitchell (Area 20).

I would like to add support to Reg Cornish`s letter printed in the October issue of the Newsletter, regarding diversification to other processes. I find that the use of film as an art form is the most interesting aspect of photography. While trying to get that perfect image I have stumbled across some very interesting ideas to experiment on. I don`t like to limit myself to reversal only, and as mentioned in Reg`s letter, find the negative/print side much easier. One advantage of neg/print is the use of interneg, which for those of you that don`t know, is a special negative for copying transparencies, that can then be printed.

I have scratched the surface of the electronic imaging revolution, and come to the conclusion that it will be many years before it can compete with the QUALITY of film. I see it in the same way as Polaroid cameras, user friendly and instant. It is a very complicated, expensive and time consuming subject and I would leave it to the experts, exept maybe as a filing system for slides.
