EDITORIAL

After a very bleak winter (if you could have called that winter!), we have now enjoyed a very long bright and sunny spell, which must be a bit of a record for March/April. This should have allowed you to brush off your camera equipment and start clicking much earlier than previous Springs. The CRCN Pages are waiting for your masterpieces so please give this a thought when you finally get your slides processed.

Roy Salmons has managed to arrange an AGM, in Llandudno on Sunday the 4th of May 2003. Yes, its a little out of the way, but as it includes an Extravaganza weekend it will be well worth making the effort. There is much to get through at the AGM, Officers elected and plans for the future of the Club etc. Now is the time to send Roy your thoughts and proposals. See pages 3&4 for further details.

Digital photography is certainly on the move and many members are now combining this with their silver film work. On pages 14&15 Kevin Craske gives his thoughts on the effect it is having on us and the complications on learning the system. You can make up your own mind as to what threat you think it may have on the C.R.C.. On pages 6&7 I add my thoughts and as you will find, I am not completely certain that it MUST mean the end of the C.R.C! There are just too many ways we can use both systems to advantage. It really is up to ourselves, with determination the Club can continue to serve us for quite a long time yet.

Colour slides scanned into computer graphic files and added to the CRCN pages continue to make great impact and it would be nice to see more of you send a selection to help fill the pages. This is ideal for groups of slides that build up into a theme. The centre pages contain such a presentation, of photo’s taken during a day trip to Milwaukee and give a first impression visit to the town and the pleasant Lake Michigan waterfront. Have you a favourite town or village that could receive the same treatment. I would appreciate hearing from you for the next CRCN. Single or pairs of photo’s are just as welcome.
