PROBLEMS.                       CAUSES.
Almost opaque   * Bleaching or fixing not carried out. totally, or
partially       * Dilution of the bleach or fixer - exhausted.
                * First Development not carried out.
                * First & Colour Development process carried out in reverse.
                * Film stuck together.
Dark Overall    * Insufficient temperature and time in First Developer.
                * Insufficient agitation.
                * Too low pH value in First Developer.
                * First Developer solution diluted or exhausted (oxidised).
                * Colour Development temperature too high.
                * Colour Developer solution diluted.
Light Overall   * First Developer temperature too high or too much agitation.
                * First Developer pH too high.
                * Contamination of First Developer with Col. Dev. or Fixer.
                * Low temperature or insufficient time for Colour Developer.
                * Insufficient agitation in Colour Developer.
                * Concentration too high in Colour Developer.
                * Contamination of Reversal Bath with Colour Developer.
                  (somewhat blue balance).
                * Contamination of Reversal Bath with Colour Developer.
                   Fogged film.
Light Overall   * Contamination of First Developer with Colour Developer,
and Cyan Blue     and Reversal Bath  or Fixer.

Yellow Balance  * Contamination of First Developer with Conditioner.
Overall         * Contamination of Reversal Bath with First Developer.
Yellow-Red      * Too high pH in Colour Developer.

Magenta         * Contamination of Colour Developer with Reversal Bath.

Cyan balance    * First Developer contaminated with Colour Developer or
                  Reversal Bath.  (Light overall).
                * Too high pH value in Colour Developer.

Blue balance    * Contamination of First Developer with Bleach or Fixer.
                  (Also light overall).
                * Contamination of Developer with Conditioner, or with
                   Fixer  (Shadow green).
                * Contamination of Reversal Bath with Fixer.
Green           * Contamination of First Developer with Stabiliser.
balance         * Contamination of Reversal Bath with Conditioner/Stabiliser.
                * Contamination of Colour Developer with Stabiliser.
Red balance     * First Wash time too short.  Too high pH value in Reversal
                  bath.  Contamination of Colour Developer with fixer.
