STARTER E6 CHEMICALS.

Following a request from a member of the Club at the A.G.M. on the 29th of May, I have produced a "Starter List" of chemicals for the E6 films. I have chosen the formula on page 16/17 of the Issue No48, Jan.88, as a basis. Three amendments should be noted.

1. The quantity of Hydroxalamine Hydrochloride in the Colour Developer on page 16 should read 30ml/litre or 1.5gms/litre and not as given.

2. 1 have substituted Sodium thiosulphate at the rate of 2OOgms/litre in the Fixer, and added 19gms of Sodium Bisulphate to the Bleach to obtain a pH of 5.2 - 5.4.

3. EDTA Na4, see the note in Oliver Barrons’ list of chemicals.

4 Formaldehyde and Acetic Acid. Oliver Barron is unable to supply these liquids, both liquids are available in 500ml lots from Photo Chemical Stippies or from other chemical suppliers such as Rayco (UK) Ltd. or Hogg Laboratory Supplies.

5. The quantities are sufficient to make llitre of all solutions, and can be subdivided to produce smaller volumes, we would not expect smaller volumes than 250ml. The quantities given are for starter purposes only and Oliver Barron would not expect to supply more than one starter pack to a member.

6. Some of the chemicals are used in B/W processing and also for Colour Negative developing and printing, but NOT Cibachrome printing.

7. Chemical suppliers, generally have a minimum quantity of 25gms for expensive chemicals but the common chemicals are usually sold in quantities of 500gms or even 1000gms.
