April 1955. Aberdeen Steamline car 141 at the "Fountain" stop, on No. 7 route (Scatterburn to Market Street). The shutters on the entrance was added to counteract the fearce Aberdeen winters. Only two of these trams were built (No's 140 and 141) and mainly worked the No.7 route, although they ventured on other routes during special runs. Sadly, as with most other Aberdeen trams, they were taken to the beach links in 1957 and set alight with the shells sold as scrap. An action, which to this day many Aberdonians have never forgiven the Council. These and their sister Super Steamliners would have made a magnificent addition to the National Tramway Musium's tram collection, in Debryshire. They were built in 1940 by English Electric.
