My musical
life has included;
- classical
piano studies to the highest grade level at that time until women, jazz and
George Wright completely distracted me!
- organist at church from age 10 onwards (pump organ, pipe
organ, and Hammond organ)
- part-time and full-time professional musician (piano &
organ) from age 16 until the computer industry consumed my life 23 years
later, but not before I had more than 15 minutes of fame on a national talent
quest ("Showcase") in 1968
- Yamaha piano and organ salesperson, manager, and then
business owner
- performing a number of concerts on plug-ins but
only one concert on a theatre pipe organ (no theatre organs were available
locally to practice on)
- working as the theatre organ editor and columnist
for Keyboard World magazine from 1980 - 1986
- running a successful series of popular organ and then
pure theatre organ concerts over a decade in Canberra from the late 70's
onwards. I presented only those organists who were at the top of their
art form from around the world
