This is a bit of a work in progress but I will cover the basics.
Lets start with one memory bank like it is in a standard organ.
Under the two manuals are 2 rows of 10 pistons or buttons and 3 for the pedals. In actual fact any stops can associated any piston.
Each stop has two settings. First whether a stop is recognised by a particular button or mapped, second whether the stop should be on or off, set.
Your Miditzer came with a set of settings already installed. If you press the buttons you will see the tabs move. The solo buttons seem to operate the solo tabs and the accomp buttons seem to operate the accomp tabs but the first, third and fifth buttons pp, mf and ff also operate the pedals as well. Pedal stops operate the pedals. How? Mapping.
Press Solo p button. Stop tabs will turn off and some will turn on say TIB8, Flute4 and Vox 8. Now turn them off again and turn on some of the ones that were off including the Solo DIAP8. Turn on some of the accomp tabs. Press solo p again. Watch what happen. The Solo tabs that were turned on before turn on again and the Solo tabs that were off before turn off again, but the Accom stops don't move. Now press the MAP button (note that it stays pressed until it is pressed again) and the Solo p button and all the solo stop tabs go on but the Accom tabs are off. This is the mapping. Any tab that is mapped is operated to where it is set when the combination button is pressed. So because all the Solo stops are mapped and the solo TIB 8, VOX 8 and Flute8 are Solo they go to were they were set (on) but the Solo DIAP8 because it is set off but mapped on, when the p Button is pressed it turns off. On the other hand the accomp tabs were mapped off so they aren't affected at all.
Release the MAP button and you are back to normal. Press Solo p again and you get the tabs that you had before add the Diap 8 and press SET. Once again like the MAP button the set button will stay down until either you press it again or you set this combination into whichever button you press next press Solo P. The SET button releases and you have set that combination of Stop tabs into button P. Now wherever the tabs are, whenever you press button P you get back to the same as before but Diap 8 comes on as well.
Now press MAP again. This time release the DIAP 8 tab and remember the MAP button is pressed. Now when we press the SET button we will be setting the MAP part of the button instead of the set part. So MAP is pressed and set is pressed. Now press P. SET is released, and we have a map for P that doesn't include DIAP8. With MAP still pressed, press some of the other combination buttons and come back to P. note that P is the only one that doesn't have DIAP8 mapped. What is going to happen now?
Release the MAP button and we are back to normal. Turn some tabs including DIAP8 on and press p, what happens? Everything goes to where it did before and DIAP8 is on. Mess them up again but leave DIAP8 off. Press p. What happens. Same again but this time DIAP 8 didn't move. Why?
Because DIAP 8 isn't mapped.:)
Press MAP, press P, turn on DAIP8 press SET and then P. set should release. We have now mapped DIAP8 again. Release MAP and we are back to normal again. Press P and we are back again and DIAP8 is on. Mess them up, press P, and DIAP 8 is on. OK? Good. Now remember we added DIAP8 to what was there before so we need to remove it again. Turn DIAP8 off and we should be back where you started. Press SET, and button P and we are back were we started. mess them up and press p, and this time, no Diap8.
Hope this helps
If you still can't follow it tell me and I will try to figure out something
