Notice: There was a parking garage on Kittredge Street just off Milvia across from the theatre. This garage has been torn down and no longer exists. Parking is available in the former tennis courts between Bancroft and Durant at Milvia. There may (or may not) be a fee for parking in these lots.

BART
Take the Richmond line to the Berkeley station (not North Berkeley). When you get off the train, go up one level to the turnstile level. Take the escalator up to street level. There is only one escalator to street level and several stairways. Since the stairways put you in different locations it is difficult to give directions, therefore take the escalator. When you exit the escalator you will be on Shattuck. Turn left (south) when you exit the escalator. Walk (south) down Shattuck to the end of the block. This is Allston Way. Cross Allston Way and turn right (west) onto Allston Way. Walk two blocks to Milvia Street. You are now across the street from the theatre. Cross Milvia Street and continue walking on Allston Way. The entrance gate(s) to the theatre will be on your left.

Driving from I-80
Take the University exit from I-80 and head toward the hills (east, away from the bay). You will be on University Avenue. Follow University for quite a way. Turn right (south) onto Milvia Street. There is a traffic light at the corner of University and Milvia. Drive for three block on Milvia to Allston Way (there is a traffic light). If you turn right (west) onto Allston way, the entrance gates to the theatre will be on your left.

Driving from route 24 and the Caldecott tunnel
After you exit the tunnel, take the Berkeley exit. This road has several names depending where you are. It is Route 13, Tunnel Road, and Ashby Avenue. If you follow it, it will eventually become Ashby Avenue. Follow Ashby towards the bay. Turn right (north) onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Way (there is a traffic light at this corner). Follow Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, for about 12 blocks, to Allston Way and turn right (east). There is a traffic light at this corner. Once you turn onto Allston Way, the entrance gate(s) will be on your right.

Driving from the south on 880
When you get to Oakland, follow signs to Berkeley and to I-80. Once you are on I-80, take the University exit and follow the directions above for "Driving from I-80".

Driving from the south on 580
The easiest instructions are to stay on 580 until you see the exit for I-80 and Berkeley. Get on I-80 (north? east?) and exit at University. Then follow the directions above for "Driving from I-80".

Driving from the south on 580 (alternate route)
The following directions will have you exit 580 at Martin Luther King, Jr., shortly after the Grand Avenue exit. This route is quicker and generally has much less traffic. It is much more complicated to navigate. From now on Martin Luther King, Jr. Way will be referred to as MLK.

From 580, take the MLK/51st Street exit, continue to MLK (left from exit under BART), continue 14 stop lights to Allston Way. There is a traffic light at MLK and Allston. Turn Right onto Allston. The entrance to the campus will be on your right.  Note: When exiting from 580, remain in center lane and when you come to any fork in the road, always take the left fork.  There is a fork at Alcatraz and Adeline streets before the BART station/parking lot. As usual, take the left fork to continue on MLK.
