Tim Schramm & Friends Present

Holiday Spectacular 2009

Rochester’s own Tim Schramm started playing the piano at the age of 6.  At the age of 10 he was introduced to the Mighty Wurlitzer at the Auditorium Theater in Rochester and it was love at first sight.  Since that time, the organ has become Tim’s passion. He played his first church service at the age of 11, and continues to play church services, weddings, funerals, organ dedications and theater organ concerts.   He currently serves as Vice-President and Program Chair of RTOS.

Tim worked in the piano and organ business for almost 25 years specializing in church organ installations. He has since left retail altogether and now makes his living as a full time musician.  He is currently an accompanist for the Rochester City School District and Artist in Residence and Director of Music Ministries at Wesley United Methodist Church in Rochester.  Tim is frequently hired by the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film where he plays Mr. Eastman’s splendid four manual Aeolian pipe organ.  He hires out for private parties and freelances as a digital instrument consultant.

Tim’s concert career has been rapidly growing.  In 2005 and 2007 he traveled to England as an artist in the Byron Jones Organ Festivals and to concertize on the restored Compton in Bristol.  A little closer to home, Tim has performed for the Kingston Theatre Organ Society in Kingston, Ontario.

Tim has invited some very talented guest artists to join in on this month’s concert.  The soprano voices of Theresa Ringholz and Michelle Andrews will simply melt your heart.  Harpist Amy Walts will grace us with her angelic artistry.  Trumpeter  Louis Wilson Jr. will let our spirits soar to the heights.  The sweet tone of violinist Courtney Johnson will thrill us.  There will be dancers, friends from the film White Christmas, and Santa all making a visit, all of course accompanied by plenty of theater organ music!  The stage of the Auditorium Center will be transformed to a Christmas wonderland you will long remember.  Please plan to join us as we wish all our members and friends a very Merry Christmas!
