The Second and Latest 2003 RTOS-produced CD:
"Tom Grierson Plays Palace Favorites"
This CD was re-mastered by Dick Clay from the original 1963 release stereo LP vinyls. The original tape master was recorded in the Rochester's RKO Palace Theatre 2 years before the theatre became a victim of urban renewal in 1965. The artist Tom Grierson, an Organist Hall of Famer, opened the Wurlitzer 4/21 featured in this album on December 24, 1928. Mr. Grierson was the RKO Palace House Organist until the management stopped using the organ in the 1940s. This CD has been released to celebrate the 75th birthday of this famed Wurlitzer and the luxurious RKO Palace and the 40th birthday of RTOS itself. RTOS restored and moved this now 4/23 instrument to its present home in Rochester's Auditorium Theatre where it has been used to entertain hundreds of thousands since the start of a regular series of concerts beginning in January 1967.
The CD includes the following selections:
RKO March, Green Leaves of Summer, Holiday, Fiddle-Faddle, Enjoy Being a Girl, Magic Flute, Hail Festival day, Sleeping Beauty Waltz, The Maid with the Flaxen Hair, Welsh Hymn and Finlandia.
