The Toronto Theatre Organ Society

Peter HansenPeter Hansen

Peter began taking piano lessons at the age of 12, and shortly thereafter began studying the theatre organ. He picked up the organ relatively quickly and began playing at the Organ Grinder Restaurant in Toronto at the young age of 14! Peter worked as an assistant organist at the restaurant throughout high school and college, but gave it up up to pursue a career in aviation.

Peter studied airport management in college and went on to become an air traffic controller. He has worked as a controller for just over 17 years now, and is currently a supervisor in the Air Traffic Control Centre at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

Peter gave up music for many years but has started playing professionally again in 2002. Since then he has played numerous concerts in Canada and the USA. This is Peter’s fourth appearance at Casa Loma.
