The Houston Theatre Organ Society is installing a Wurlitzer 235, Opus 1501 3/15 Theatre Organ in the Houston Community College (San Jacinto Campus) Auditorium. This is an exciting and ongoing project. Hundreds of volunteer man hours have already gone into the installation. Here it is fall of 1998 and the organ's main chamber is 99% completed, the console wiring and relay wiring completed as far as possible and the organ is partially (Main chamber only) playable, which makes it FUN to work on.
If you are interested in learning about theatre organs or organ construction in general, this is the perfect opportunity for you to get in and help put this mighty Wurlitzer back together.
