Anatomy of a WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ
The Relay Pneumatics, when activated, make contact across the contact block wires to complete the
required circuit.
The "upstop" is threaded through the bar above the pneumatics while the downward movement is limited
by the screw in the top of the pneumatic which seats on a felt pad inside. The "upstop" needs to be
adjusted so the contact bar clears all the contact wires and the "downstop" needs to allow the bar to
move far enough make contact with all the contact wires plus a little more ensure the operation
wipes the contact each time it operates. Excessive upward movement increases the time before contact
is made while too much downward motion increases wear and increases the time to break the contact.
