Anatomy of a WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ

ACME SIREN

This is one of the few single stage actions in the instrument. There is no primary pneumatic and valves. The magnet operates the pneumatic directly. The small pallet disk is attached to the top of the pneumatic to control the flow of air to the siren. This is possible because of the small amount of air that the efficient siren design requires to make a sufficient noise. The action does not need to be fast in its operation because you want the siren to start and build slowly as part of its effect.
