Anatomy of a WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ

Manual Chest.

The interior of the chests were all shellaced except where the pneumatics go. Glueing to shellac does not work.

The gaps between the pneumatics could have been shellaced but I was not quite that enthusiastic. Glue will spread to seal these small areas later.

The pencil lines marking the position of each pneumatic were redrawn before the timber was polished. The lines extend a little above and below the pneumatics for reference when postitioning the pneumatics. It can be seen the spacing was not even. Most of the unevenness was caused by the need to leave extra space where the screws are needed to hold the bottom boards on.
