THE STOPTAB THE OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER OF THE CENTRAL OHIO THEATRE ORGAN SOCIETY December 2000 John Burns, Editor (burnsjr@prodigy.net)Chapter Meeting – Sunday, December 10 Election of Board Members The December chapter meeting of COTOS will be held at the home of Carol and Rick Devere on Sunday, December 10, beginning at 3PM. At this time election of new board members will occur. All COTOS members who are also members of ATOS will be eligible to vote. The ballots of those present will be tallied along with the ballots received by mail from eligible members, and the newly elected board members announced. Enclosed in this issue is a ballot that can be mailed in if you cannot attend. The Devere’s are the new owners of the electronic replica of the Ohio Theatre (Columbus) Robert Morton four manual theatre organ. As you may know, this instrument was formerly owned by, designed, and built for Tom Hamilton. If you have Internet access, you can see it at "http://theatreorgans.com/ohio/". This page is just one small part of the theatreorgans.com website (no "www"), a great resource for all things theatre organ. There will be open console after the business portion of the meeting. Bring a covered dish or beverage. Coffee will be provided. Directions: From Interstate 270 on the East side of town, exit onto eastbound route 161 (please note: if you are coming from the south, you now need to stay to the right on 270 while you are still south of the Morse Road exit to get into the proper lane for the 161 exit). Follow 161 east to the Little Turtle exit. On the exit ramp stay in the left lane and turn left (north) onto Little Turtle Way. Take the first right (east) onto Longrifle Road and go about 50 yards to turn right onto Flintrock Drive. Keep following Flintrock Drive as it turns left and becomes Moccasin Drive. The address is 5447 Moccasin Drive, a brick and stucco house on the south side of the street. COTOS Website Update |
We have posted (with the promised frightening speed) photo galleries from the recent ATOS regional convention, "New England's Millennial Pipes." Also, pictures under the new "Extras" category of some COTOS members helping in the removal of a 1928 Robert-Morton Theatre Organ from storage in a barn. It is destined for rebuilding and installation in the new Holland Theatre in Bellefontaine, Ohio. |
