CRC OPEN MEETING, INFORMATION

The third open meeting will take place at the B R staff Club on Sunday 26th of May. From 2.30pm until around 5.30pm. The Club is just 200 yards from the station. There is an hourly train service from most directions. Didcot is well situated for road connections from the N4 & A34 and easy to find being situated midway between Oxford, Newbury, Reading and Swindon. There is ample parking space at the Staff Club.

It would be especially nice if those living within 10-40 miles distance could make a special effort to attend this year. We are aware of the expense of traveling these days, but with planning perhaps some car sharing could be arranged among members and Area Leaders, and enough savings could be made to make the journey worthwhile.

We are pleased to announce that Bill Crumplin will be featuring his Wide-Screen 3-D show. You will recall that we missed out on this presentation at the first meeting when an accident put one of his projectors out of action. Most of the equipment is home made and Bill uses two Russian HORIZANT cameras to give a wide picture ratio and projects onto a l7ft Silvered Screen. The projector lamps are boosted to give ample light output this requires a liquid coolant to protect the slides. Using polarizing filters and glasses, this combines to give one of the most spectacular slide viewing experiences you are likely to encounter.

Along side this will be some A/ST work from Yorkshire and South Wales members. All members are welcome to bring some slides whether it he 2 or 102, to show their, work. if you really cant come along we shall be pleased to accept your slides along with some comments. Every care will be taken to return them in good order.

Some light refreshments will be available during the interval when it is hoped that Margary Meadows will have some of her African Safari Cibachrome prints on show and along with some processing units, Kevin Craske hopes to have his TFM desk available for sales. We say hopes, as around this period Kevin and his wife shall be expecting to process their second ‘reversal, which we hope will develop into a perfect positive!

Much work is put into bringing these meetings to fruitition and we urge everyone who can possibly attend to please make every effort to come along. We shall certainly do all we can to make you very welcome.
