HERE AND THERE
(Page Two)

You’re right of course, It just HAD to be photography, didn’t it? So I can foresee me trailing around photo dealers in~ search of one of those new-fang1ed electronic gadgets that does everything completely automatically. Everything, that is except wash your hair.

But for the present, the poor lassie isn’t fit enough to embark on her new-found hobby So I have some respite But I shall expect the call to come ere long - for our Rita is definitely not the lady to give up once having decided that picture-taking can be the healing therapy he’s been seeking.

TQ STOP OR NOT TO STOP ???
WASN’T IT kind, and so helpful, of Roy Salmons to respond in such detail to my plea for information regarding the new Three-bath E.6 kit he is marketing from his 'PhotoWorld’ business at Llandudno.

Roy’s explanation of the need to change over to EDTA NaFe in place of Potassium Ferricyanide as the bleach/fix was something I expected. what I didn’t know was that it was Pot. Fern, that was the problem, so far as my trouble with the magenta cast which I experienced long ago. I am indeed grateful to Roy for, particularly, this item of information and for his exhaustive treatise on the general principles of reversal processing and esecia1ly the’ modern three-bath technique.

It is this sort of keen interest from members which makes the C. R. C. so valuable. And besides there’s not one of us who. can claim, with certainty, at any rate, that we know it all.

HAD  A COUPLE of excellent catalogue arrive through the post arid it struck me that member’s might be interested for both are beautifully produced and I’m sure will be of immense interest.

First to arrive is the 1985 booklet setting out the many and varied publications on photography issued by Focal Press There are some 140 titles ranging in price from around £4.00 to £47.00 ... something for everyone, in fact there are many, black  & white illustrations from the books on offer.

The other is a truly lavish full-colour production from Polysales and lists every conceivable piece of photographic equipment currently available. And some excellent examples of how to use some of the more unusual examples like in colour filters and fish-eye converters.

The Focal catalogue can be had from Butterworth & Co (Publishers) Ltd. Borough Green, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN15 8PH. Polysales address is The Warf, Godalming, Surrey. GU7 IJX.

IT WONT GO AWAY!!!
HAD A LONG, pleasant and interesting chat on the telephone with Mr. C. H. Cowling - He of the somewhat revolutionary E.6. process, which omits Citrazinic Acid. You may remember that I made up his brew and finished with the most profound of green casts. Mr. Cowling assures .me that he gets acceptable results from his formula and I have no reason whatsoever to question his veracity, 1 can but repeat that it just didn’t work for me. However Mr. Cowling now tells me that he has modified his formula and will let me have a copy of his latest mix. This I will try and I hope, most sincerely, that this time I too will be successful.
