THE
AIMS, OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
OF
THE
The Club was formed in 1971 as the CR50
Club, to cater for those interested in home processing
CR50 film. In 1976 when CR50 film was taken off the
market, the scope of the Club was widened to include all
makes of home processed colour film. Most activity in the
Club is directed towards the processing of reversal film,
but some members work on
colour print materials.
The Club operates independently of any manufacturers, but
maintains close contact, which is of great use to members
with problems of supply and the many technical changes
which are continually taking place. By the constant
interchange of ideas and experiences, members are able to
get the best possible quality from their work. At the
same time it is possible to increase the amount of film
that is exposed thanks to the economy of home processing.
Advice is provided by Area Co-ordinators, who may refer
to the Clubs Technical Officers for help. A Library
is maintained for the use of members and much useful
information may be obtained from this source.
Members who wish to know how their work compares with
others may join in a folio group. This is a number of
persons who each send in a set number of slides, which
are circulated to all the folio members to mark and write
a short helpful comment. There are no prizes to be won,
but you can see what the results of your fellow members
are like. The comments are polite, constructive and of
course if you happen to get the most points in a folio it
is very satisfying.
Area Co-ordinators run the Clubs activities in various
parts of the country. They distribute the National
Newsletter, often produce a local one; and if there is
need, run local meetings and activities. The activities
depend on the demand of the members of an area.
There is a large gathering of members each year at the
time of the Annual General Meeting of the Club. A small
time is devoted to the Clubs annual business and
the rest of the time is spent viewing members slides,
widescreen shows, A.V. presentations, colour prints etc.
It is an event well worth attending, which is probably
why some of our members travel hundreds of miles to be
there.
Supplies of common photographic chemicals are held in
stock by the Club and are sold at very competitive
prices. Additions and latest
prices are given in the latest National Newsletter, as
required.
All the Clubs activities are aimed at helping YOU get the
most from Colour Photography.
