EDITORIAL EXTRA
A SERIOUS SITUATION! It is quite normal for the "Editor" to complain about the lack of copy for the Newsletter! But as I have been trying to explain for some while now, copy really is very much in short supply and this issue only came together during the fortnight leading up to publication, which means that there was a period of over two months when I had no idea if this newsletter was going to be possible.
Likwise, we seem to be loosing many of our long standing active members and with the loss of Ron Knowles we no longer have a regular columnist which, leaves a large gap to try and fill. The National Newsletter is very important and if copy dries up it will be a threat to the well being of the Club.
We certainly need more members to come forward with copy and if we can find at least two people prepared to do regular columns things would be greatly improved. If you would like to give it a try please get in touch with me as soon as possible. This really is a serious situation which needs to be addressed quickly. My address and phone number is at the bottom of page 16. Please get in touch. Don`t leave it all to others every small contribution builds up to a more interesting Newsletter.
Another old Stalward, Charles Crawford, who you may remember, was Editor and Secretary of the Club has given up W&M and has offered his stock of chemicals to the Club as well as an excellent set of scales. A few chemicals have already been snapped up but the list below is still available. Write or phone `ME` if you are interested. Charles doesn`t want anything for the chemicals or scales and I offer them to members for the cost of the postage and a small donation to Club funds. If they don`t go by the next A.G.M. they will be given to Ron Croad and added to the Club`s chemical supplies:-

The scales are excellent. Made by Griffin & George of bekalite and brass and set in a polished wood and glass frame. There are no weights included, but should be easily found at secondhand shops and market stalls. This can`t be posted and should be picked up, by arrangement or, at the next A.G.M.
