EDITORIAL As
most of you will be aware, there was some conflict going on between the
CRC Executive Committee and the Committee of Area 22. The two main issues
are:- Possible collection of Subscriptions, directly to Central Committee
and, a request by the E.C., for Area 22 to bring their `own`
"Constitution" in line with the main CRC Constitution, where a
clause or two conflicted badly, As Kevin Craske explains on page 3, this
resulted in exchange of communications with some of Area 22`s Committee
members, becoming rather personalised, instead of simply discussing the
directive put to them from the CRC E.C. and has now caused the resignation
of Kevin as Hon. Chairman, and possibly others in Area 22. Its
with much sadness that this has caused conflict where long and strong
friendships have developed over the years, but this was a situation that
has been allowed to build up since the formation of the CRC, from the CR50
and it is only now that present members of the E.C. decided to tackle
them. A E.C. Meeting is due to take place on the 18th of January therefore
the outcome will miss this Newsletter, but we will give the results as
soon as possible. Kevin`s
resignation not only leaves the Chairman`s position vacant, but he is also
giving up doing the Chemicals Sales and this is a serious loss of a very
important service to members, and a main source of income, which assists
the costs of printing the CRC News in its present format. If anyone feels
they can take either of these two jobs on please let us know as soon as it
is possible. DIGITAL
& SUPER 8mm With
the sad passing of Bert Sanders, Area 15 has been amalgamated with Area 3,
which now covers the whole of Wales and the West and North West of England
from Bristol to Carlisle. Co-ordinator Roy Salmons has produced a superb
two page local newsletter using a colour printer, including excellent
examples of colour prints taken on a Sony, Mavica Digital Camera, which
saves its pictures to standard Floppy Discs. It shows the way Digital
Imagery is going, although it must be pointed out that Roy only does a
very small run of Newsletters and our "National" scale leaves
the costs of using this system, out of the question for the time being. However,
with the same newsletter Roy includes a membership form for joining the
Super 8 Worldwide User Group, which would suggest home cine is still alive
out there! If you are interested write to Roger Bellham (Hon. Sec.) 84.
Spashett Road Lowestoft, Suffolk NR32 4DQ. U.K. membership is £8,

NEWS I have just received the equally sad news that Pete Guy is resigning as Hon. Secretary, at the AGM, in April. This is also a result of the clash with Area 22, which proves how difficult these negotiations have been. The next Executive Meeting takes place on Sat. 18th. of January, too late to report in this newsletter, but the outcome will be reported as soon as possible, but if you think you can take on as Secretary, please get in touch as soon as possible. Even more important that as many members as possible attend the AGM Meeting, at Repton in April. (See advert on page 15, for full details). "YOUR NEWSLETTER NEEDS YOU" |
