SECRETARY'S NOTES

Hello again. How time is flying. It hardly seems almost a year since the last AGM, but, true enough, it’s nearly with us Once again. Please make a note in your diary, May 23rd.
The venue is The Village Hall, Grapenhalj, Warrington, starting with a light buffet promptly at l2.30p.m. Grateful thanks to Bill Broadhurst for arranging this venue. Once everyone is replete the AGM proper can start. Reports from the various Club Officers are heard; Club Officials for the Season 2004 -2005 are elected and any other proposals are discussed and voted upon. Only paid-up members are entitled to attend the AGM.

After the official business, there will be a Bring & Buy Stall where members can hopefully acquire or dispose of various photographic or other items. A small percentage of receipts will be deducted to go to Club Funds. Hopefully, Membership Secretary and Club News Editor, Bill Reid will be able to get time off work to give us a demonstration of his AV programme via computer (modem technology indeed!), and finally our two intrepid Folio Secretaries, Dave & Eric Deeming will woo us with some of their conventional photography AV shows.

The present Officials are: Chairman, Nick Williams; CRC News Editor & Membership Secretary, Bill Reid; Secretary, Roy Salmons; Treasurer, Margaret Salmons; Slide Folio Secretaries, Dave & Eric Deeming; Technical Officer, Lawrence Edwards; Librarian, Brian Asquith; Committee Member, Noel Dean. John Pearle acts as Club Chemical Dispenser and Ron Croad supplies bulk lengths of Colour Negative Film. If you want to have a go at any of the above Committee posts, or you want to nominate someone please let the Secretary know before the end of the month. It is already understood that Brian Asquith and Lawrence Edwards do not intend to stand again. Obviously nominees must be fully paid-up members of the Club.

Any other proposals regarding running of the Club’s affairs should also be presented by the end of April. All members intending to make the effort to attend please let the Secretary know a.s.a.p. so that an elegant sufficiency of victuals may be procured (we need to know how much food to get!). We don’t usually get more than 10% of the membership attending the AGM which is a great shame, so please do your best to make this a bumper year.

Our Chairman, Nick Williams has been checking up on travel arrangements, and has found to his consternation that he is going to find it very difficult to get from his part of the country to the AGM venue. So if there is any member who can offer Nick a lift (all or just part of the way) he would love to hear from you. Write to him at 29 Hawthorn Rise, Cashes Green, STROUD, Gloucestershire, GL5 4QR. (email: nbr.williams~virgin net)

Bill Reid would find it easier with his equipment, too, if there is a kind soul able to offer him a lift, too. (WDCRC@aol.com)...... address on page 16.

Regards to all,

Roy
