SECRETARY'S NOTES
Until last week I had been having a lovely time with my photographic efforts. Lovely blue sky with big clouds and
visability that was great. In these conditions landscape shots look good. It came to an end last week with unbroken blue
skies and haze from stubble burning and the heat putting paid to any hope of nice landscapes.
Glyn Willicombe from Porlock, went on holiday to Ireland and had to make do with taking pictures of Pubs and bar Shops.
What a hardship! I changed the tubes in my lightbox for Graphix daylight corrected ones. They do a very nice job.
Thought some of you might like the address etc. of the supplier. It is easy enough to make a ply or white chipboard box
put in the fittings and add an Acrylic top. The cost works out at a fraction of the price you would pay for a propetry model.
The tubes are:- 2ft. 20w Graphica 47. Cat. No. 47/20. Cost is £6.00 per tube plus Vat and postage. Supplier:- STARNA Ltd.,
31/33 Station Road, Chadwell Heath, Romford, Essex. RM6 4BL.
There has been some confusion over the mysterious (N/A) after the price of Konica 30m bulk. It is mearly that Konica do
not recommend a price for that item. Dealers are left to fix their own price. We have plenty in stock, but the 10m tins are in
short supply. It seems that rather a lot of people have found out that it is a good film.
Many members have re-ordered the new film this year. It is very nice to get your letters saying that you have had good
reults with it. Makes all the work worthwhile.
A couple of members sent me disaster results recently. They were completely red. The shades varied from pink to maroon.
Oh dear - I am not a chemist, but with consultation with Brian Savage, we decided on the following breakdown of the
trouble.
Film was clear at the ends so the bleach and fix had worked. The image was there so the first developer had been O.K.
Conditioner helps the bleach process so that seemed to have worked. That leaves the Reversal and Colour Developer.
The member had made up his chemicals and done a test strip which was O.K., Then went on holiday. After the holiday it
all went wrong. The moral must be, use only fresh chemicals if you want consistent results.
