The Featured Organ for the month of December is the 3/18 Mighty WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ installed at Lake Brantley High School in Orlando, Florida. This instrument, better known as the Don Baker Memorial WurliTzer, is under the care of the Orlando Area Theatre Organ Society (OATOS), a proud chapter of the American Theatre Orga Society.

The Orlando Area Theatre Organ Society currently meets on the third Sunday of each month at 2PM in the Lake Brantley High School Auditorium, with the exception of the summer months.

3/18 Mighty WurliTzer

This console was played by the legendary Don Baker, one of Tom Hoehn's teachers. Today, it is referred to as the Don Baker Memorial WurliTzer.

The Walnut Hill Mobile Recording Crew paid two visits to Lake Brantley High School and made some recordings of this fine instrument, with Tom Hoehn and the Bone Doctor taking the bench on November 12th and Tom playing a concert for the monthly chapter meeting of the OATOS on November 27th, 2005.

Tom Hoehn, the Bone Doctor and Kimmy took a trip to Orlando Florida to see the 3/18 Mighty WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ installed in the auditorium of the Lake Brantley High School.

Below we hear Tom Hoehn at the console once again, playing a few medleys of his most requested music during the Orlando Area Theatre Organ Society chapter meeting on Novenber 27th, 2005.

In these recordings, there is a popping noise that is the sound of the Swell Shades clacking due to worn out felt. We could not eliminate the noise from the tracks.
