Chapter Meeting – Sunday September 17 |
The September Chapter meeting of COTOS will be held at the residence of Dorothy Steiner in Baltic, OH. Dorothy has installed a 3/16 Wurlitzer, which was built up over the years from a much smaller original instrument, Wurlitzer Opus 1684, a Style B. She also has other instruments including a Conn and a Hammond, and a collection of antique cars. The meeting will begin as usual at 3 PM. Feel free to bring any covered dishes, snacks, or beverages. |
Directions: Dorothy is located just outside of Baltic, OH, at 12439 Ragersville Road SW, which is also CR 46. From Columbus, take Interstate 70 East, then go North on Interstate 77 at Cambridge. Exit onto route 36 West at Newcomerstown, and go about 11 miles, where you will turn right (North) onto route 93. From there it is about another 11 miles to Baltic, OH. Turn right at the flashing light, which is Main street in Baltic. This is also CR 46 as you head out of town. You'll go over a hill, and there's a schoolhouse on the left. The next house on the left is Mrs. Steiner's. Proceed past the driveway to the next drive, which is the parking lot. See the map inside. |
COTOS Web Site Debut |
On July 16 COTOS established a presence on the World Wide Web. Our web site was posted at http:// theatreorgans.com/cotos/index.htm, hosted by the Theatre Organ Home Page. Included so far are pages on our chapter organ, a schedule of area organ events, a page on membership information, and links to other interesting sites. We plan to expand the site quite a bit in the coming months. If you have any historical material on COTOS, Theatre Organs in Ohio, or any suggestions, corrections, complaints, or any other issues, Email me at the address above, or write to the Stoptab PO Box address. There is great potential here for "spreading the word" about COTOS and Theatre Organs in Central Ohio. |
Early last month we added an extensive picture gallery from the ATOS 2000 Annual Convention in Milwaukee. |
