NEWS AND SNIPPITS

Old stock of glacial acetate acid (12 years old and 40p for 500ml) I had been using like there was no tomorrow until I started getting low. Imagine the shock I got when enquiring the present price at my local chemist. shop, £10 I was quoted for 500m1. After I picked myself up off the floor the chemist said, but it. is B. P. quality and I hastily said no thank you all the same. Most photographic shops do not stock it either. They only seem to have the 80% solution complete with indicator, which I believe suitable for a black and white stop bath. Rayco do 500ml bottles but with postage this works out very expensive, also where do we go from here?

I have completed the transition from CR100 and shot off several reels of CRX 100 on a November holiday abroad. While away I shot off a 36 exposure test film of some outstanding scenery with four or five of the major colours It was the same scene on all shots at 1/250 sec but I groups of three frames with 100 ASA, plus I stop. I just cut off about 5 inches of film as required in a changing bag.

This is of course a direct comparison of freshly made up developer.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      George Sparkes. Remember the Nimslo 3-D Camera? This really did (shouldn’t really put this in the past tense as technically it is still current) produce three-dimensional prints without the need for any special viewing aid.

But what about slides? . If anyone has bought one at the knock down prices they have advertised lately, and has used the camera to get successful 3-D slides, please share your knowledge and tips. There seems to be a resurgence of interest in ‘deepies’ and any information which we can share is. to be appreciated. Does anyone know of those Russian cameras which gave very long negs (or slides) on 35mm film? I think they were called HORIZONT. If you know the where abouts of one not too outrageous price, 1 would like to hear from you. Must be cheap.
