AREA 26 CLOSES
Co-ordinator, David Lewis expresses his sadness at having to close down this area of the Club. Numbers dwindled over the last few years in spite of David's annual round of organising meetings and exhibitions. Over the last 5-10 years the Area lost most of its most interesting and active members. People such as the late Arthur McKee (Belfast), who ran the area from its earliest days and who ran excellent meetings and exhibitions and helped fill the CRCN with numerous interesting articles.
The late John Wilson (Dublin) who had the most rib-cracking humour and really enjoyed his photography and processing and especially his membership of the Club. His letters were always a joy to receive.
David took on the reigns after the loss of Arthur and has done an excellent job but suffered the loss of his long time friend Frank Redhead who also helped run the Area.
Loss of any Area of the Club is a sad affair but also reflects the loss of these good people who made and recall the happiest days of the area. In David's own words "These good folk you could relate to".
I am sure you will join me in thanking David for the work he has put into both the Area on behalf of the C.R.C. We wish him well for the future and that he continues to enjoy his membership of the Club.
Any new enquiries from Ireland will be directed to Area 3 (Roy Salmons). It would be a shame if Ireland was'nt represented by the Club. Bill Reid. (C.R.C. Editor).
