ARNOLD MOORHOUSE

It is with much regret that we have to report that Arnold died on the 24th of Sept. aged 57. The funeral took place at Oldham Crematorium on the 1st. of October. The CRC was represented by a card sent by the Hon. Secretary.

Arnold was a qualified chemist in commerce before becoming a technical College Lecturer in Chemistry. He began his CRC membership in Area 3, later going to Area 5 in 1981. It was during this period he began experimenting to find a working alternative to the E6 formula in which CRC weighers & mixers were having problems with. This produced the A.M. formula and which has made Arnold a household name in CRC circles.

We as a Club owe a great deal to Arnold and his untimely death must sadden us all. The Colour Reversal Club sends it's deepest sympathy to Arnold's wife, June, and family and freinds.

It is indeed a sad start to the year. However as long as CRC Members weigh & Mix their own brews then Arnold will not be forgotten.

My thanks to all who write to say how much they liked the new format N/L and to those who have sent fresh copy. Please keep it coming in. Don't forget you can now send in your own typed or printed copy, drawings & sketches. Just leave a 3/4 inch margin around an A4 sheet.

Welcome to new member, Alan Frame, who has also taken on Leadership of Area One. We hope that this will re-new interest and activity after their long period without a Leader. Our thanks go to Brian Savage for looking after the Area and supplying their National Newsletters.

This is the final N/L before completing the programme for the Didcot Meeting which is on Sunday 31st. May, and must appear in the April Newsletter. I still need to hear from anyone willing to help, put on some slides and/or display some prints. Please let me know as soon as possible.
