EDITORIAL

The AGM & Open Meeting is reported inside, but I would like to thank everyone who came along and made it another very nice day.

While there weren't the usual number of Slide presentations, everyone seemed to enjoy the extra time to chat among themselves.

Another meeting will be held in 1994. Details will be given in the CRCN. Watch out for the date and plan those slides and prints to bring along.

COMPUTER NEWS

Many members are now using a computer, be it for playing games, using Address books, Diaries & Spread sheets etc, or Desk Top Publishing, as used here.

Two Area Co-ordinators, George Sparkes and David Morrell have successfully exchanged copy via their computers, inspite of us having different makes of machines! This is done by saving the copy as an ASCII file, rather than with all the`codes` used to add styles & Fonts etc.

With the disc formatted for a PC or Atari computer it allows the files to be read by those machines. This not only saves me hours of typing time, but allows your work to be presented without any errors being added by someone else.

At the AGM I expressed my concern to the lack of copy which makes my work as editor very difficult and really need more of you to seriously consider sending something in. However you don`t need to have a computer, as straight forward hand written or typed copy will be most welcome. Please phone or write for further details.
