SECRETARY' S NOTES
These notes are being typed on Christmas Eve and as is the custom I would wish you all a Happy Christmas, but as you will not read them until 1996 may I wish you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year instead.
By now you will all have received the latest issue of the handbook. It is a very professional looking production and Bill and Kevin must be congratulated for its production.
I have received some correspondence as to the contents of the book and would like to point out that although my name appears on the cover as its compiler, that credit applies to the first edition. This edition is the third and I have had nothing to do with its production. I have sent the editor a page of revisions which I hope he can print, but it is not going to be easy to incorporate them into your copy as it is no longer loose leaf. Best that I can suggest is to paste corrections over the errors.
Oliver Barron`s daughter has a table viewer to dispose of. It is a Wotan Diastar which projects a slide onto a 8 x 8 ins . screen. It has a black screen for daylight viewing. Offers in the region of £15.00 - £20.00 should be made to Barbara Barron, The buyer must be prepared to collect the viewer from Northwood. In a recent A.P advert the current price of the item was £40.00.
I recently had bad luck with a parcel of liquid chemicals sent to a member by post. A bottle leaked and the Post Office would not send it any farther than it was. It was returned to me with one empty and one full bottle. They are not amused! In future I will have to restrict the supply of acids and alkalines to 500ml bottles of which I have a supply due to kindness of a member on medication. As the club lost at least 10 on this debacle it will cost 30p per bottle on top of the chemical.
If at all possible, order liquid chemicals for delivery at the A.G.M. but please give good notice of your requirements.
There has recently been hints that Bill`s `misfortunes` have been due to the CRC Reversal Bath. That is not so. It is due to oxidization of the Colour Developer. I recently made a mistake with my reversal timing which resulted in most of the film only receiving ¼ of its reversal time. It was still perfect. As there were 4 films in the tank I was very relieved.
Ron.
