WTPO Internet Radio
We are gearing up for the grand opening of WTPO Theatre Pipe Organ Radio here at Walnut Hill. This will be a new page on our site featuring playlists from your favorite Walnut Hill Artists. You could get your material featured on WTPO, so get those recorders rolling and send in your work today!
You will need Windows Media Player 10 to listen. You will need a high-speed connection to do live streaming, because we will not compromise the quality of our broadcasts, which are encoded in 128KB/sec WMA format.
We have a lot of work to do, but as things roll along, we will have articles about the featured artists for you to peruse as you listen, and hopefully in the days ahead, interviews as well.
We will be accepting bids for advertisers in the organ industry and we will be offering custom ad production services, including graphics and audio production. Price lists have yet to be drawn up. We will be featuring Walker, Allen, and Rodgers, to name a few.
If you are an instrument retailer and want your ad on WTPO, just give us a call at the Walnut Hill Gazette office of operations. The number is 1-727-230-2610. The office hours are 10 AM to 6 PM EDT Monday through Friday.
The radio station will go online in January 2006 at the latest, but we are hoping for a November to December 2005 launch if all goes well. Stay tuned as the story unfolds!

We are fortunate to get close to the J. Tyson Forker Memorial 4/32 WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ installed at Grace Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida on a regular basis. Therefore, we can take as many photographs as we want, along with recording the instrument at our leasure.
It is only fitting that we share these with you as we commemorate the release of Tom Hoehn's Sounds of Grace CD, due out in early December 2005.

Here, we see the left stop bolster, showing the Pedal Stops and some of the Accompaniment stops. The tongues are made by Hesco and are attached to real Syndynes that have a lightning fast action and are easy to toggle manually. Note the white engraving on the red tongues, making them very easy to read in dim light. Also note the key that turns on the blowers and the console.
To see more great shots of this wonderful machine, head on over to the Feaured Organ of the Month for June 2004, still, a work in progress.

It was only a matter of time before we needed to do a complete makeover of Tom Hoehn's Featured Artist page.
He has recorded so much material and we have such a plethora of information about him that it was necessary to break his long page up into several pages, each one covering a specific topic on this fine musician.
There are now seven pages for Tom, bringing the total page count at the site to 139.
Enjoy!

Thanksgiving 2005
Doc and Kimmy standing at the console of the J. Tyson Forker Memorial 4/32 Mighty WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ installed at Grace Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida.
Today, we give thanks. The office was closed for Thanksgiving Day. I trust that all had much to pause and give thanks for. We did. We have many loyal patrons from all over the world who have made Walnut Hill one of the top TPO sites on the internet. We have folks like Jim Henry, John Tay, Bruce Miles, Joe Barron, and many others who are bringing the power of the Mighty Theatre Organ into homes everywhere. But, most of all, we have each other with whome to share our enthusiasm and support for this, the King of Instruments. God bless one and all!

Happy Thanksgiving!
In today's tumultuous world, it is easy to lose sight of the many blessings we receive, both large and small. It is in that light that I beseach all who come here to take a monent and stop to give thanks for these things.
We have many wonderful organs to play and hear. We have many friends who share our enthusiasm for them. We have our health, and we have each other. We live in a country where the sky is the limit because of all the brave, selfless men and women who fight daily for the freedom we take for granted. And finally, we have a God on high who loves us and forgives us, allowing us to carry on with our dreams and ambitions.
Let this be the year where we all express our thanks in many ways by helping each other make a difference in the Land of the King. Do your part to keep the organs in your area playing, and fostering interest in them to the young people who will follow in our footsteps. If we can do these things, the future will remain bright for the Mighty Theatre Organ!

Walnut Hill Continues Record Growth In 2005!
Walnut Hill continues to grow as we aproach 14,000 visitors, with the music of Tom Hoehn being a large asset to our loyal fan base. He is a great player and I am sure he appreciates you taking the time to listen to his fine performances on our many great installations in the Central Florida area.
The Theatre Organ Academy on Yahoo! has many new students enrolled and the action is lively, with quite a few folks wanting to learn how to play the King of Instruments.
The Mighty MidiTzer continues to be developed, with a new version around the corner that will put the sound of the Style 216 2/10 Mighty WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ on any computer, irregardless of whether or not it has a SoundBlaster sound card installed, overcoming the need for this type of compatability and also breaking the 64-note per card polyphony limit. Tom has put a lot of hard work and money into this record and we are very proud to be involved in its production, as well as being able to offer it for sale in our General Store upon it's release in early December.

After a couple of false starts, they got things rolling and recorded the massive white and gold machine under the command of Tom Hoehn and the Bone Doctor, taking many hi-resolution photographs along the way.
This organ is to be featured in the month of December. When that page goes online, we will be showing many pictures of the console and offering some of the live tracks performed by Tom Hoehn and the Bone Doctor. Stay tuned...

There will be some photographs posted on Dan's Wall of Fame page as we get them processed in the days ahead, so stay tuned as we add the new content.

Tom Hoehn plays Phantom of the Opera!
Tom Hoehn warming up before the evening performace of Phantom of the Opera at the First United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida.
On October 30th, 2005 during a Sunday evening at the First United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida, Tom Hoehn gave us a special treat. He took the bench of the magnificent 4/93 Rodgers/Rufatti/Wicks Church Pipe Organ at the church and played for a silent movie presentation of the 1925 box office hit, Phantom of the Opera. These new tracks are now available on his Featured Artist page.
This was no minor event. Long in planning, ATOS Vice President Bob Davidson was there to introduce the movie and Tom, who came out on stage dressed in a black cape as he sidled up to the massive organ.
There are a total of four tracks that, when listened to end to end one right after the other, are the complete program as performed that night. These are large files, especially parts 1 and 2 of the Phantom. Be patient as you download them, and enjoy the show!
Enjoy!

Today, Tom, Kimmy, and the Bone Doctor journied to Sarasota to take some pictures for his upcoming CD entitled Sounds of Grace , soon to be released.
This is going to be one of those "must have" albums! The sound of the J. Tyson Forker 4/32 Memorial Mighty WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ is truly spectacular, and Tom was in top form during the sessions which were completed during late September.
As soon as the licensing is completed, it's off to the duplicator and on to the retailers, among them, the Walnut Hill General Store. A tentative price for the CD will be $20 plus shipping, handling, and sales tax where applicable. Look for the CD to go on sale in late December, just in time for Christmas!

It was just a matter of time before Kimmy, the Bone Doctor's dearest Tiny One, decided to update her Yahoo! group, the TPO Widows Club.
As you well know by now, the Theatre Pipe Organ has a way of occupying the lives of those who get involved with one, to the point of sometimes making one forget about everything and everyone else. That is why Kimmy founded the group, so the "widows" would have a place to hang out and share things not related to the King. It is a sort of support group, so to speak.
The Bone Doctor drops by from time to time, with a joke passed on to him by Clint Savage, a man of great humor. But so far, very few folks have stopped in to speak with Kimmy. What are you waiting for? She is waiting for you, so drop by to say "hello" and get aquainted.

Things Get Back To Normal
The new office at Walnut Hill Productions is nearly complete. Thanks to the generosity of all who contributed funds and assistance, we are just about on a even keel. There are still some boxes about, but within the next few weeks, all should be back to normal as it was before the move.
Kimmy is loving it here in sunny Florida, being glad for the opportunity to come here. She is beginning to warm up to the King of Instuments after having seen one up close and personal. Hearing and seeing is believing, and she cannot wait to see Black Beauty at Roaring 20's Pizza and Pipes!
