I had quite an abrupt change forced on me when Kevin Craske decided to give up the CRCN printing and Roy Salmons too over. It has meant having to learn yet another Desktop Publishing programme and all the quirks that they involve. However I would like to thank Kevin for the many years of great work he has done on the Newsletter and for the Club. Kevin took the decision as he has been unable to resolve the printing problem that leaves scanned lines on all text pages and has had a long running battle with his printing machine dealer without any success.
My thanks too, to Roy for taking the job on and I look forward to working with him and seeing the changes that his style of printing will produce. However, on a more serious note, News copy is becoming very scarce and communications on this matter has reduced dramatically. The CRCN can only continue if YOU, the members keep sending me copy. Please give this your utmost attention, thank you. Another serious issue is that of finding a replacement CRC Secretary. As you know John is giving up the job in October and that is a serious threat to the existence of the CRC as it can’t continue properly without a Secretary. WE really do need someone to come forward to fill the position and I would ask you all to give serious thought to this request. You can contact either John or myself and every assistance will be given to help to make a smooth changeover. RICHARD EARDLEY (Get Well) Richard Eardley (Area 9) is in hospital and is very poorly. I would like you to join all the members of the Slide Postal Folio in wishing Richard our best wishes for a good recovery. SLIDE SCANNING It is now much easier to have your own slides appear in the CRCN. Either on their own or along with an article send your slides to me (Address at bottom of page 16) and they will be returned when they have been scanned and saved to my computer. See pages 8 & 9 for latest examples of the quality of slides in the latest CRC Folio. We hope that you will enjoy the new presentation and appreciate the time and effort that goes into producing your quarterly CRCN. Please do what you can to help keep the pages filled with interesting articles, graphics and photographs.
