EDITORIAL

While a full report on the AGM & Meeting is given inside I feel some important issues require explanation and discussion.

Having arranged these meetings for some while now I must admit that I have enjoyed every one. However the one disappointment has been the lack of attendance considering how many members are within a reasonable distance. It`s a great puzzle why a fair number come from over 125 miles away yet many more within half that distance, never do!

These meetings are not only enjoyable but allow, at first hand, to see how well members are doing with both weighing & mixing with slides and reversal printing within the Club continues for the rest of the year. They are also important in that it brings a good mixture of members from the `Areas` to give a balanced voice to the A.G.M., which would have to take place, whatever.

My family, particularly, Mandy,, Sarah and Billy, have given sterling service in supplying food and refreshments. However as they are growing up and tending to go their own ways, this is the last time they intend giving this service and I am sure you would like to thank them for their efforts on our behalf.

This leaves me in a dilema as I wouldn`t wish to have members coming a long distance without refreshments being available. I will be pleased to arrange these meetings as usual but would appreciate you all letting me know if you would still attend if it means you having to bring your own food etc. for the day! Hot water, tea & coffee would be available on a self service basis. Perhaps someone among you may consider taking on these refreshments!.

It has also been suggested that alternative venues could be arranged so that members in the North may also share in these meetings. If anyone is interested and knows of a suitable venue in a central area and can arrange the presentations, print exhibits and refreshments etc, please let me know. All reasonable ides will be carefully considered and assistance given by the Central Committee. The venue must be easily reached by all modes of transport for as many members as possible to attend. It has been suggested that the Central Midlands from around Coventry to Leeds might suite.

Please give these ideas your utmost attention. Wherever these meetings take place it is most important for the C.R.C. that they do.
